Rights can exist without a registration. A pool company trading under a similar name builds unregistered rights in the area it serves. Those rights do not appear in any register and they are geographic.

AM/PM is federally registered in Class 37, the class covering construction, repair and installation, under Reg. 1,912,757, held by Atlantic Richfield and renewed in November 2025. It covers gasoline service station services, which is not this trade, but it sits in the class a buyer’s counsel searches first and we would rather you read it here than find it there.
